What to do if inflammation still develops? At the first signs of inflammation, you need to contact a specialist who will assess the problem, if necessary, remove plaque and recommend anti-inflammatory therapy. At the initial stages, it is enough just local remedies to cope with the disease. For example, dental gel. In this case, it is better to choose immediately a combined drug that has a complex effect – antiseptic, anti-inflammatory and analgesic.
“Ambulance” for gums
¹ Instructions for medical use of Holisal® dental gel
One of these drugs is a gel Holisal®. One of its components – choline salicylate – is a derivative of salicylic acid, which has an analgesic and pronounced anti-inflammatory effect, blocks the production of prostaglandins (the culprits of inflammation). Other active ingredient Holisal® – cetalkonium chloride works as an antiseptic. Moreover, it fights against the main causative agents of infection – bacteria, viruses and fungi. This is important, because not always even a specialist can immediately determine exactly what caused the inflammation – bacteria, viruses or fungi, and it is impossible to delay anti-inflammatory treatment.
The analgesic effect of Holisal can occur in 2-3 minutes and can last from 2 to 8 hours¹. That’s why Holisal® can help with periodontitis, stomatitis, gingivitis, inflammation of the lips, reducing swelling, itching, burning, pain, bleeding gums.
Apply the gel 2-3 times a day. It is allowed to use before meals to reduce pain when eating. For adults, a strip of gel 1 cm long is squeezed onto a finger and rubbed with light massaging movements on the affected area of the oral mucosa¹. Due to its structure, the gel is well retained on the mucosa. This will ensure a more reliable adhesion of the gel to the gum.
