Sugar consumptionin world is on record and can reach up to 18 kg per person. And that’s just pure sugar, excluding pastries and jams. Doctors also note that its excess negatively affects human health, causing obesity, caries, type 2 diabetes, early aging and other problems. But most people just love sweets. How to be in such a situation? Look for useful substitutes.

In your telegram channel endocrinologist Zukhra Pavlova told what are the safe alternatives to refined sugar.

The doctor noted that one of the good options is stevia, which is 300 times sweeter than regular sugar. Such a product does not participate in carbohydrate metabolism, therefore, it has no restrictions for use. The advantage of stevia is the fact that it is resistant to high temperatures, so it does not break down during cooking. But at the same time, it is difficult to choose the appropriate form of release – for example, you should not use it in the form of grass, because when brewed, a liquid with a specific smell is obtained. It is better to give preference to purified syrups, the expert advises.

It is also important to ensure that there are no additional additives in stevia – fructose or artificial sweeteners. So you should read the label carefully. Stevia can be used in various products – baking, baking and others.

Another option for a useful sweetener is erythrol. It will be a great solution for those who think that stevia is bitter. Despite the fact that erythrol is not as sweet, it is quite capable of replacing refined sugar. At the same time, it has a bonus – it is less high-calorie than the same stevia: it contains 20 kcal per 100 grams, the endocrinologist notes.

Both of these sahzams do not cause caries and do not lead to flatulence.
